    Considering himself an environmental activist with an interest in helping to solve worldwide energy supply shortages, Jan Berkowitz is a retired bio-remediation executive who most recently served as CEO of GDC, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based company that recycled waste products and offered comprehensive environmental and waste services. Jan Berkowitz is a graduate of Indianapolis' Penn High School, where he earned a 3.8 GPA and excelled in science, mathematics, and a variety of college prep courses. He also lettered in wrestling and football.

    In retirement, Mr. Berkowitz continues to stay active through his passion for mountain biking and karate. A muscle car enthusiast, he enjoys restoring classic cars and racing stock cars. He also holds a commercial pilot's license and is a PADI-certified scuba diver. Additionally, Mr. Berkowitz is an avid big-game fisherman who enjoys catching marlin and tuna and participating in recreational tournaments. His other interests include fine dining and high-tech smart homes.
